Teaching – 2013 Bayridge Elementary and Star of the Sea Elementary as well as Jessie Lee.
It has been several years since we , the seniors of South Surrey, have taught at Bayridge but this year was special.
We ended up teaching all 500 students in four days culminating with a tournament on the fifth session. We also chalked and marked three outdoor courts which were very helpful for court manangement . Several seniors helped to monitor the courts and assist those students in need of help to grasp the game.
In the end , on April 24th we completed the tournament and awards for gold silver and bronze were awarded to the winners of the upper and lower grades. Some 500 students, staff, and parents attended and were amazed at how much their children learned in a week using the level 1 course as outlined on www.Bcpickleball.Com . Just the week before we completed the same exercise with Star of the Sea school 440 students with a tournament for the 72 grade 7’s. On June 3,4,5, we will do the same course for Jessie Lee Elementary in South Surrey which will bring our total students number taught this year to over 1000 students.
My thanks go to the volunteers ( see their names on the thanks page and let them know you appreciate their efforts and volunteering ) .
